    I don’t believe “all the worlds words derive from latin”….I’m just saying that Romans gave names such as Germanicus, Africanus, etc., and later Italians gave children names of non-Italian heros such as Charlemagne. Also, nick-names such as Antonio the “lombard” because of characteristics. I do think you’re knowledgeable on this subject, and I agree with finding things in common.

    well Dear Mr Roma, I can understand that you fans of “Roman Empire” believe that all the world’s words derives from Latin ,..but, believe me (seeing that I’m studying very well these things, cos my family have an ancient Lombard Rooted name (Lombards were a german tribe that came here in Italy, like many other german tribes , for several centuries before and after the fall of Roman Empire)…..Gilardino or Gherardi or Gherardini are all LOmbard (Langbarten)rooted names

    Those names are found in Latin which was widely used before German, so they originated in ancient Latin.
